Our government believes in affordable, high-quality child care for Canadian families.
To allow parents, particularly woman, to be able to go back to work and further reduce the financial burdens families with young children can experience, #Budget2017 made a historic, long term, $7 Billion investment to re-engage the federal government in early learning and childcare.
For the first time in Canadian history, the federal government, provinces, and territories have signed a multilateral agreement on child care to better support Canadian families. The new investment will create up to 40,000 new affordable child care spaces.
Our government is also providing families with more money to help with the high costs of raising their children.
The new and improved Canada Child Benefit (CCB), is simpler, tax-free, better targeted, and more generous. In fact, 9 out of 10 Canadian families are better off under the CCB.
These funds help children achieve their full potential, and and are helping to lift over 300,000 children out of poverty.
